A Little over the top maybe but I wanted to really put some emphasis on the third key to success. If you haven’t read up on the first two keys you can read my previous posts and catch up. If you’re all up to speed then lets drive forward.

Are you letting negativity take control of your life? It’s easy enough to with pretty much every single media source using it in darn near every headline that goes out, it’s difficult not to be affected by it.

But every now and then you meet or at least witness somebody walked with a skip in their step and a twinkle in their eye and that my friends is the result of owning the third key.

But there is an irony in all of this, because at some point in all our lives we have at one time or another walked with a skip in our step or a twinkle in our eye, and many of us have lost it somewhere along the way.

It may have been ideas that didn’t work out or friends and family who scoffed at our plans but lose it we did and a shame it most certainly is.

Do you remember a time when you felt like you could accomplish anything and that you were overflowing with magnificent ideas and plans for you life? Do you remember how great you felt in those moments?

You were bold as brass, bright as a button and then some how some way the lights got a little dimmer, the outlook a little bleaker. Something was missing. Do you know what it was?

Passion. Yes, passion is the third key and one that we’ve all had glimpses of throughout our lives. Without it you lack the motivation necessary to make your life truly stand out. It is passion that colors the palette of your life and makes big deals small and small wins feel enormous. Passion is the fuel desire and can be highly contagious. A person with passion could probably sell ketchup Popsicles to a woman wearing white gloves (well you get my point).

What are you passionate about in your life these days? Can you celebrate the small wins in your day?

Earl Nightingale penned it well when he stated:      “The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.”

It is our passion that allows us to look upon our goals with intense desire and feel the ideas bubble forth into existence. Passion is indeed the spice of life.

“Do you ever wonder why it can be so hard to get ahead in life? You try everything out there, and nothing seems to really work.”

In my last post I was covering the seven success keys and how they’re guaranteed to make a difference in your life. We covered the first key which was having a Vision and I hope you took a serious look at what having a Vision can do for you.

At this moment we’re going to get into the second key which may be the most important of all but I’ll let you decide.

But before I jump into the details with you let me share a story with you…..

I used to work as a cabinet maker at a medium sized millwork plant and one of my co-workers was a guy named John. Now John was a nice enough guy but he seriously had no vision, he just seemed to be led around by life’s circumstances living moment to moment and paycheck to paycheck.

By the way I’m all about living in the moment but how John was doing it was down right destructive and here’s why.

John would come into work most days right at the top of the hour, often a few minutes late. He was a hard worker and got along with everyone and at times you could see him procrastinating at his work station or giving up if his work got to complicated.

Like most of us John loved his weekends and at times would enjoy them a little to much and because of this he would usually be late to work come Monday morning or not even bother to show up at all.

John was an easy going guy but couldn’t for the life of him figure out why he could never get ahead. He was getting paid what the job could afford to pay him. It was certainly enough for the rest of us to get by on but John was struggling and could put his finger on the problem.

The thing was is I knew what John’s problem was, and that brings us to the second key for success: Strength.

Strength may be the most important attribute of the seven keys but then again maybe not, we’ll see. Of course, I’m not talking about physical strength but rather mental strength.

Mental strength covers things like your ability to know when your procrastinating and pushing past it, or being able to persevere through the rough, aggressive, brutal times when the only thought we can hold is that of quitting.

Strength is about persisting when you don’t want to persist. It’s about doing when you don’t want to do. Inner strength can be the difference between success and failure, it’s about never giving up until you win period.

If we don’t have inner strength then we allow things like worry and doubt to cloud our thoughts and extinguish our dreams.

Without strength of mind, anxiety creeps in and keeps us exactly where we are in life with no hope of moving forward.

If you want an immediate cure for anxiety I’ve got one: Take everything in your life that’s not working for you right now and stop doing it.

Think I’m crazy saying that. Think how every bit of anxiety would just melt away if everything in your life was working for you. Now tell me, am I crazy now?

It’s been said before that; It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over, because if you have control over them then there’s no sense in worrying about them. Also it makes no sense in worrying about things you have no control over, because if you have no control over it then there is no sense in worrying about it.

I will leave you with this quote from Ovid: ” Happy the man who has broken the chains which hurt the mind, and has given up worrying,once and for all”.

Let me explain what I mean. For most of us, we are willing (and happy) to help other people solve their problems. We love to help others, however, we seldom are willing to help ourselves. We often refuse help even when it is offered to us and quite frankly I could never really figure this out.

Is it our pride that prevents us from wanting t receive help, or do we think that the people that offer us the help aren’t qualified to give it?

Either way it’s a shame because the way I see it we all could use all the help we can find. Life becomes so much easier when we accept the help of others, it’s not a pride thing, just put that to the side. When you can accept help and in turn give it when it is needed you have created an invaluable asset in the world.

Okay, now lets get down to business. There are seven things that you can incorporate into your life right now that will change how you see the world and in turn how the world sees you.

When all seven of these keys are utilized success is guaranteed (bold but true). The first key I wish to discuss is Vision.

Vision is having a clear understanding of what it is you want, what you goal is. It is about sitting down and writing out if necessary what the most important things are that you want to achieve or have. You see, when you have a clear precise vision of what you want and most importantly why you want it you mind has something to anchor to.

When your mind has something to anchor to it goes about subconsciously seeking out the means to make it happen. At first glance you may think this is far-fetched but I assure you it works. Sit down right now and write down your biggest goals and dreams. Ask yourself why they are so important to you and then make a point of looking at them every day.

If you ever found yourself overwhelmed and confused you can bet it’s due to your lack of vision and what it is you really want.

Ben Stein stated it well when he said ” The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.”

“If Your So Brain Picking Smart, How Come You Ain’t Filthy Stinkin’ Rich?”

I’ve had enough and I’m throwing down the gauntlet. The Success Rhino has arrived!

Why Success Rhino you say? Well, if you haven’t read the book Rhinocerous Success by Scott Alexander then I suppose you wouldn’t know why exactly, but it’s a short read and certainly worth your consideration.

But let me ask you this. Would you rather be a Rhino charging through the jungle of life, eyes fixed on your specific target, relentlessly chasing it down, making decisions for yourself and not allowing anything to get in the way of you and your target. Sure it takes thick skin to gt past the ridicule and nay sayers but thats why you’re a rhino.

Or would you rather be a Cow, stuck in the pasture of mediocrity penned in, docile and always at the whim of others beckoning. It might feel safe, but it’s not much of a life.

It is my hope and sincere wish that I can help you become the Rhino of your life and live a magnificent well played life.

How can I do that. The bottom line is I have spent the last five years studying mindset and how it relates to personal success. I was  a washed out 8 – 5 cabinet maker and one day realized that although I was good at what I did it was not going to provide me with the kind of life style that I wanted for myself and my wife. It was at that moment I knew I needed to make a change, and that decision led me to the ever expanding world of the internet and starting my own business from home.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not telling you that I have arrived and my life is complete, no, no, far from it, but I have come a long way in five years and I’ve had great successes and some dismal failures. My aim here is to provide you with solid tools so you too, can become the success you always knew was possible. I believe I can shorten your learning curve and help you get headed in the direction you want to go.
